Programme to support maternal and child health in 4 villages around 4 villages périphériques de la ville de Ouahigouya (Burkina Faso)

  • Organisation: Jeremi Rhônes Alpes

  • Benifiting country: Burkina Faso

The objective of the project is to reduce the rate of malnourished children and educate women as far as possible in health problems related to malnutrition. It is also to facilitate HIV testing especially among pregnant women.

Four nutritional booths were constructed and are working in Cissin-Yabonsgo, Binda and inside Bogoya Centre.

Four homeless women health workers have made monthly tours in the booths in which children are weighed and identified for follow up; some are aimed at health care facilities.

The women prepare the enriched porridge which is then distributed. Also, during these tours discussion sessions are organized on various health awareness and malnutrition topics.
