  • Construction of a BSL4 Laboratory in Wuhan as part of an intergovernmental agreement on fight against emerging infectious diseases between China and France (2015)

    A partnership between Fondation Mérieux and the Chinese Ministry of Health aims to decentralize diagnostic capabilities and patient care for tuberculosis and its resistant forms in regions through the training of healthcare professionals from hospitals and installation of LED microscopes.

Current research projects

  • CARE Project "China Against Resistance": use of antibiotics
    This project in collaboration with the Chinese Medical Association (CMA) intends to improve the use of antibiotics and fight against nosocomial infections and antibiotic resistance.

GABRIEL network multi-center studies

  • Epidemiological study to identify the pathogens responsible for severe pneumonia in children under 5 years of age
    The objective is to identify viral and bacterial agents associated with severe pneumonia in hospitalized children to determine the etiologic distribution and involvement in pneumonia.

  • Development of diagnostic tools for pneumonia: Streptococcus pneumoniae strain typing in multiplex PCR
