From 22 to 24 September Fondation Mérieux was proud to host the conference ’From package to protection: how do we close global coverage gaps to optimize the impact of vaccination?’ at the Conference Centre ’Les Pensières’ in Veyrier du Lac, in the French Alps.

The meeting had a worldwide presence, a total of 71 participants from 19 different countries (Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Nigeria, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Senegal, Spain, Switzerland, UK, USA...) coming from diverse backgrounds, International organizations, non-governmental agencies, academia, foundations, and Industry, to mention a few: WHO, CDC, University of Sydney, Laval, Kingston, Vilnius, Washington, Harvard, US Department of Health and Human Services, London School of Hygiene and tropical medicine, Bill and Melinda gates Foundation, Industries such as Sanofi Pasteur, GSK, Crucell.

Experts exchanged knowledge and experiences to address main aspects of coverage gaps and erosion in vaccination and to discuss main highlights on the psychology of risk perception, decision making and emotional barriers and drivers of vaccine acceptance within the objective to ensure that all vaccines get from package to protection.

This meeting was made possible through unrestricted grants from Sanofi Pasteur.
