Christophe Longuet has been Medical Director at Foundation Mérieux since March 2007. He is a doctor specializing in tropical medicines and HIV / AIDS, and worked at Hôpital Bichat Claude Bernard in Paris for twelve years (1995–2007). There he worked on clinical research into the HIV virus and malaria, as well as tropical diseases and people living with HIV.
At the same time, he was chief physician for HIV / AIDS in Africa for MSD and in charge of the Mectizan humanitarian donation for onchocercosis (1998–2007).
He previously worked as a hospital practitioner in the university hospital at Pointe à Pitre, Guadeloupe (1992–1994), and district chief physician in Dominica during his national service overseas (1991–1992).
Christophe Longuet also holds a Master’s Degree in International Public Health from Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium, and a postgraduate degree in Health Economics from Université Paris IX, Dauphine.
