During his stay, the Minister visited the Charles Mérieux Infectiology Centre, and more specifically the RESAOLAB project. Financed by the French Development Agency (AFD) and Fondation Mérieux, who have both contributed massively, giving 3 million and 1.1 million euros respectively, the RESAOLAB project has succeeded in reinforcing the laboratory sector in three West Africa countries: Senegal, Burkina Faso and Mali.
The Minister also met the Malian President, Amadou Toumani Touré.
