Cambodia

In Cambodia, we address key public health challenges by advancing infectious disease research, training medical biologists, and reinforcing the national laboratory network, with a focus on upgrading public medical laboratories. At the same time, we work to improve community well-being by expanding access to quality healthcare, education, and essential services.

Improving diagnosis and surveillance

In Cambodia, we focus on improving diagnostic quality by supporting laboratory networks and ensuring the reliability of medical tests. Working with national health authorities and international organizations, we implement external quality assessment programs to monitor and improve laboratory performance. We also provide ongoing training programs to help laboratory professionals develop essential technical skills to ensure that diagnostic services meet the highest standards.

Recognizing the close relationship between human and animal health, we contribute to regional initiatives aimed at strengthening laboratory networks in multiple countries. These efforts improve disease surveillance, enhance data management and optimize specimen transport systems. By fostering collaboration among health sectors, we are helping to create a more effective response to emerging infectious diseases, particularly those with pandemic or zoonotic potential.

Capacity building

Continuing education is essential for laboratory professionals to stay abreast of scientific advances. We work with academic institutions and national health authorities to develop training programs tailored to the needs of each country. Special emphasis is placed on training educators who can pass on their expertise to future generations of laboratory professionals.

By integrating capacity-building initiatives into national education strategies, we contribute to long-term improvements in laboratory practice and healthcare quality. Through workshops, seminars and technical mentoring, we equip professionals with the skills they need to adapt to new challenges and improve diagnostic services.

Supporting public health

Research is a key pillar of our efforts in Cambodia, where we work to improve the understanding of infectious diseases and their impact on public health. Our studies focus on bacterial and viral infections, vaccine effectiveness, and disease transmission dynamics. We also assess co-infections to identify risk factors and develop better prevention strategies.

To support scientific progress, we provide training opportunities for researchers, helping them expand their expertise and contribute to international research efforts. By fostering collaboration across regions, we strengthen research capacity and generate valuable data to guide public health policies and interventions.

Supporting global health

We work in Cambodia to improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations, particularly women and children. We support initiatives to provide access to education for disadvantaged students, housing assistance for families in need, and reduce social inequalities.

We also help expand access to clean water in schools and communities, reducing the risk of waterborne diseases and creating a healthier environment for children. By combining our efforts in assessment, research, education, and social support, we are helping to improve public health and quality of life in Cambodia.
