Our organization

The Mérieux Foundation brings together more than 150 employees in headquartes and 15 offices worldwide. Half work in the field, in close contact with vulnerable populations and with hands-on knowledge of their needs.

Our strength lies in the diversity of the people on our team. As a highly operational organization, with 75% of its workforce directly involved in projects, the Mérieux Foundation benefits from complementary and extensive expertise, including project management, scientific experts, administrative staff, and support functions.

Gender equality index

The French “Avenir” Law of September 5, 2018, and the decree of January 8, 2019, require companies with at least 50 and fewer than 250 employees to measure and reduce gender pay gaps and publish a Gender Equality Index on their website.

The index is scored out of 100 points and is calculated based on four indicators:

• The gender pay gap, based on the average salary of women compared to men, categorized by age and equivalent job positions (29 points).
• The gap in individual salary increases between women and men, including promotions (35 points).
• The percentage of female employees who received a salary increase after returning from maternity leave, if raises were given during the leave period (15 points).
• The number of employees from the underrepresented gender among the 10 highest-paid employees (10 points).

The 2025 overall index score for the year 2024 is 89/100.
