At the Rodolphe Mérieux Laboratory in Vientiane, to improve the care of patients living with HIV and hepatitis B, we measure their viral load for these two extremely prevalent viruses in Laos.

A long-standing partner of our foundation and host to the Christophe Mérieux Laboratory, located at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in Beijing, China has scientific cooperation with us on both a national and international scale.

In Bangladesh, confronted with the challenges of high population density, climate change and the control of infectious diseases, we increased local capacities for testing, training and research by building Rodolphe Mérieux Laboratory at the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases.

We aim to improve access to healthcare for the vulnerable populations on this island in the Indian Ocean. We have been active in Madagascar since 2006, helping to provide better clinical diagnosis by supporting regional laboratories and the Charles Mérieux Center for Infectious Disease.

To address major public health threats in Cambodia, we provide our expertise in infectious diseases, training clinical biologists and strengthening the national laboratory network, particularly by renovating clinical diagnostic laboratories.

Since 2009, Burkina Faso has been one of the leaders of RESAOLAB (West African Network of Biomedical Analysis Laboratories) and greatly contributed to its success. We have worked with the Ministry of Health in the quality assessment of over 100 laboratories to improve the quality of diagnostic services.

In a country that hosts more than one million refugees, we are working with local partners to support displaced persons. At the Rodolphe Mérieux Laboratory, we are conducting research on the respiratory infections affecting children in refugee camps and making specialized testing available to the local population.

Niger faces considerable struggles in the development of its healthcare system, due to its geographical size and security issues. We work with the Ministry of Health to reinforce its laboratory system, alongside other partners, such as the Principality of Monaco.

Throughout security issues, political instability and social crisis, we have never ceased our actions in this country in the heart of the Sahel. Through the Charles Mérieux Center for Infectious Disease, we increase access to medical care for all by offering high-quality clinical diagnosis.

In Myanmar, we are fighting against infectious diseases by developing access to quality diagnostic testing in national laboratories, especially for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Haiti is one of the countries that has been hardest hit by natural disasters in the past 20 years. We have been working there since 2002, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Population and the GHESKIO Centers to strengthen the national laboratory system and specialized research capacity. We also support several initiatives for mothers and children.

We have been working in Guinea since 2013 and were particularly involved in the fight against the Ebola virus disease epidemic. Today, we work alongside the Ministry of Health to rebuild the medical biology sector to increase its capacity to respond to future disease outbreaks.
